I am having a very poor service with my RUT901 (running latest firmware: RUT9M_R_00.07.16.3). The access point keeps disconnecting and all client devices connected to it stop communicating together. Later the access point does sometimes restore itself, but some clients take forever before reconnecting.
Even when the access point does not disconnect, the internet connection sometimes freezes forever or at least for several minutes.
Long story short the wifi access point is too poor to be relied on.
I suspect that can come from my unusual configuration, that I detail here under.
Only one SIM card is inserted in the SIM1 location. This SIM cards comes from the french phone operator Free, but I have configured my suscription to have NO internet data.
To get the internet connection on the RUT901 access point, I have added to its configuration a wifi client that I connected to my own smartphone on which I have shared the internet connection.
I imagine that the RUT901’s wifi, which must work at the same time both as a client and a host, cannot get along with this burden.
When I look at the WEBUI, I get continual error notifications, that may be relative to the bad behavior of the RUT901.
Did I miss something in the configuration? OR is the way I use the RUT901 so special that it was not designed or tested for it?
Thanks for any help.
Currently I work on my PC running windows. It is connected to the RUT901 that is claimed to be connected to windows, but sometimes it is actually not connected, and I have to manually connect my PC on my smartphone to continue working. In this case I cannot acces the RUT901 WEBUI anymore. This is very complicated to work with.
