Poe powering of RUT956, is TSW040 an option

Hi

I recently purchased an RUT956 and intend to power it via PoE using the TSW040 switch. Will this setup work, or will I need a different switch for PoE compatibility?

Hi @ArneKj,

according to this drawing (found in this wiki article)
it is not recommended, especially trying to power a
RUT seems to be dangerous.

Any switch suggestions powering the RUT956 via poe?

Hi @ArneKj,

I checked their product portfolio and only found the TSW202 which
is PoE-capable and managed. Maybe this can be set to passive PoE,
I didn’t find that information. Anyway, this looks like a total overkill
for what you need.

Ubiquity has small switches which can be configured for passive PoE.
Or use a simple PoE injector.

Anyone else with more experience on this topic?
