I have about 30 TRB140 devices on a large industrial site, all attached to various energy meters.
They are all connected via the Teltonika VPN hub, with the server in Germany.
Up until now this works well, but we now want to use the this networks for PLC to PLC communication (MODBUS over TCP/IP).
We cant get the PLCs to talk to each other, we think because the network is too slow. The ping times between the TRB140s is 500ms (using the diagnosis ping functionality within the TRB interface).
The devices have 4G SIMs in them and there is no speed or bandwidth issue with them.
Obviously 500ms is very slow, what steps can I take to get this lag down? Is it the VPN server location? would I be better with my own OpenVPN server?
