Phoenix Contact CLOUD CLIENT 1101T-TX/TX with a RUT241

Earlier today, I spent over an hour on the phone with your support (with Either Matt or Matas) but unfortunately without success. He can provide you with further details on the steps that were already attempted.

The issue concerns operating a Phoenix Contact CLOUD CLIENT 1101T-TX/TX with a RUT241 router. All attempts have failed so far.
The CLOUD CLIENT configuration itself is correct – when connected to a router such as a Fritz!Box, the functionality works immediately and without any special settings.

We urgently need your assistance, since the RUT241 is supposed to act as a UMTS/LTE router and establish a VPN tunnel to allow our support team to connect to the customer’s system remotely and provide assistance.

I kindly ask for your support and a solution to this problem.

Thank you for creating the thread as requested during our call.

If I recall correctly, our main issue was connecting RUT241 → Switch → CloudClient to give it internet so it can act as a VPN gateway for your devices. For the FritzBox (as we also tested), it worked instantly.

As mentioned during our conversation, functionality like this is supposed to work out of box, as our main goal here is to give the CloudClient internet from our RUT241; The RUT241 itself has internet and functions properly, which leads me to believe that this might have to do with either:
a) Switch
b) Compatibility

I believe we haven’t tried this during our call, so it would be nice to do so - could you please try to remove the switch from the equation and connect the RUT241 directly to the CloudClient device? As discussed, from the RUT241 LAN port to the CloudClient WAN port. After doing so, please reboot the CloudClient and check whether the situation is the same; From our end - there’s nothing else that we need to configure, you can, for example, connect your RUT241 to your PC (or Laptop) directly and disable any other internet source that your computer is getting to ensure that it is getting internet from the RUT241 as well.

Kindly let me know the results, and we’ll work from there.
