Hello,
I am trying to configure OpenVPN in a RutX50 router, and I see an error:
“openvpn(client)[11296]: Options error: If you use one of --cert or --key, you must use them both”
I have tried with versions 7.7.3 and 7.8.3, with identical result. In any case, I don’t see any traffic going out so the problem is at router side.
I have also checked the /etc/config/openvpn file and both cert and key file are stored correctly. But in the /var/etc/openvpn-client.conf, key does not appear
Can this be a firmware issue? I replicated the configuration from a working RUT360 device and I cannot find any difference.
Could you please send us the contents of /etc/config/openvpn and /var/etc/openvpn-client.conf files, excluding sensitive information and the troubleshooting file from the router, it would help to indicate the issue. You can do that safely via Hubspot, I will send you the instructions.
I have answered you by email, I have been able to solve it.
I don’t know why, but in /etc/config/openvpn file, the variable “key-encrypted” was set to ‘1’, although nothing was written in the WebUI box “Private Key decryption password”.
Changing it manually to ‘0’ has solved it, and now it is working.
I’m glad to hear that you were able to resolve the issue. Should you run into any other problems, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at any time.
