OpenVPN - Backup and Restore FAIL on OpenVPN

RutOS version: 07.23.5

The move to API Endpoints for the Backup and Restore, is still falling short of expectations e.g. if you want to backup and restore ‘sysupgrade.conf’ you actually have to add the line /etc/sysupgrade.conf to the sysupgrade.conf file.

The main thing that is challenging me, is that the backup and restore cycle, will NOT reinstate any OpenVPN Client settings. It will restore all the relevant certificates for the client connection but DOES NOT restore any of the Client config.

This is really tiresome and not what I’d expect from a backup / restore cycle.

Please can you tell me if this will be fixed. In the meantime, is there any workaroud e.g. adding an entry into the sysupdate.conf file?

Many thanks,

Mike

UPDATE: Having updated to the newly released firmware version 07.23.6, which reinstates the previous method for Backup / Restore … I can confirm that all is working as it should and I welcome the return of the old method (although I do understand what you were trying to achieve with the ‘API Endpoint’ method).
