Noise issue with RUTX50 and Ripple 8

Hi,

I am struggling with speed issues on my RUTX50 in a harbor in Netherlands.

Setup:

  • Device: RUTX50 (Latest FW).

  • Antenna: Poynting Ripple-8 (Omni-directional).

  • Comparison: My iPhone gets 200 Mbps at the exact same spot. The RUTX50 gets 2 Mbps.

Symptoms:

  1. RSSI is around -60 dBm to -70 dBm).

  2. Bad Anchor SINR: LTE Anchor bands (B3/B7) have SINR ~0 dB or negative (due to omni-antenna noise/reflections).

  3. Good 5G SINR: 5G n78 (100MHz) has SINR ~10-15 dB, but throughput is killed by the poor LTE anchor.

  4. iPhone Logic: Field Test on iPhone shows it using B3+B7+B32+n78. I cannot get the RUTX50 to aggregate B32 or achieve similar speeds.

Any tips on how to force the RUTX50 to match the iPhone’s CA-logic or handle the noise better?

Greetings, @mempex,

Welcome to Teltonika Community!

Regarding mobile connectivity speeds, please note that modern smartphones often support faster LTE technologies and carrier aggregation compared to most Teltonika devices, as they are designed for different purposes. Variations in speed are usually influenced by carrier aggregation and overall network conditions. More details can be found here:

You also have the option to manually select and lock your device to the LTE band that performs best in your location. This may require some testing, but once the optimal band is identified, locking to it can improve stability and connection speeds. A step-by-step guide for band locking can be found here:
