i’m using a rut950 router and i use a belgian sim card from orange and even while everything seems to be connected i can not have any internet acces, sometimes it works briefly… like if i keep resetting i sometimes can get acces for 5or10min and then suddenly it stops again.. ill add some screenshots below.
Please… look at the signal quality. " no signal ".
Please… check antennas connection.
Maybe you need an external antenna, like poynting.tech, to get better signal.
i’ve checked antennas and i’ve got a 100% signal of -35db..
maybe that is not enough?
in the past i had better signal and even didn’t worked.. could that be the only reason?
i’ve moved my router to a higher location and all the antennas are well connected.
yet, i only get fair to poor quality and for RSRP still no signal, should i even try to move the router higher or should i invest in a better antenna? which ones do you recomend?
Using the menu, select your network provider and explore which masts are available and in which direction they are in and how far away they are.
In your screenshot you’re connected to the Cell ID 102949143 and using the cellmapper tools you can work out which mast you’re connected to and in your case you’re connected to mast numbered 402145… find it. Imagine direct line of sight, what’s in the way in the landscape. Buildings, trees, power cables, hills etc etc. Can you see the mast? Is it hidden behind a hill or trees etc?
Knowing where you are on the map and knowing where your masts are, position your router on a window cill as high as possible and in a room that faces the best nearest mast for you.
If you get an external antenna, you’ll need to work out which side of the building directly faces a mast that best suits you. It needn’t be the closest mast, but a mast that has less stuff in the way in the landscape.
i’ve got a Poynting XPOL-2-5G | 2x2 MIMO | 5G | Frequencies 698 MHz - 3800 MHz | 11 dBi antenna and still my best signal results are not optimal, i wonder what i could still do…
This is a directional antenna, meaning it needs fairly accurate positioning.
Is it outside?
How high?
Is it positioned on the right side of the building in relationship to the mast that you want connecting to?
Is it accurately, as far as possible, pointing at the mast? If the mast you want is to the north, the antenna needs placing as high as possible on the north side of the building and mounting so that it’s pointing at the mast.
In your screenshot you’re connected to the Cell ID 102475091 and using the cellmapper tools you can work out which mast you’re connected to and in your case you’re connected to mast numbered 400293… find it. Imagine direct line of sight, what’s in the way in the landscape. Buildings, trees, power cables, hills etc etc. Can you see the mast? Is it hidden behind a hill or trees etc? How far away is it? Is the antenna pointing at it?
