Hello, we Have 23 RUT240 cellular routers. I am looking for someone to either provide a walkthrough or a remote session. The issue we are having is i would like to lock down these modems so that only a handful of trusted ip addresses can contact them and the rest of the world it would ignore. These modems are being used to poll a modbus device from our webhost on a specific port. sequence of events are webhost initiates a request for data on specific port and the modbus device then sends back the packets, once received webhost closes session. Please provide a response thank you.
Greetings,
Just to confirm, you’ve already set up data transfer and port forwarding, but now you need assistance with restricting router access to only your whitelisted IP addresses, correct?
If that’s the case, you’ll need to create traffic rules similar to those shown in the attached screenshots. Depending on your setup, you may need to set the destination zone to Device (Input), this will vary based on what you’re trying to access (the router’s IP or the LAN network). In your configuration, add all the whitelisted addresses to the Source IP address field. The destination and source ports should be adjusted according to your specific setup.
Here you can find some more information about the traffic rules:
Best Regards,
Justinas
