I am trying to change the net rules on a device, even if I put it on the DMZ and register the IP address for the firewall on the DMZ still shows the device as NAT type as strict
Is there a way to change the NAT to moderate to allow this device to pass through? I have tried forwarding imports but still shows NAT type as strict.
The devising question is an Xbox
Thanks
Andy
Hello,
Seems like “strict NAT” simply indicates, that UPnP is not enabled on the router. We do not enable it by default, as it essentially allows any LAN device to open certain firewall ports on the router.
However, if you trust the devices on your network, you can download UPnP package from our Package manager (System → Package Manager):
Once installed, navigate to Services → UPNP → enable the instance.
It should be noted, that for UPnP to work, you should have a public IP on your primary WAN interface. If your ISP does not provide a public IP, incoming connections will still be dropped by your ISP. Please contact your mobile / fixed broadband provider regarding obtaining a static/dynamic public IP address.
Best regards,
