Modem updated but webui says update available

I recently updated two RUTX50 with the new modem firmware RG501QEUAAR12A11M4G. In one of the devices all ok but in the other the webui says there is an update available having the last one installed.

Any suggestion to solve it?
Thanks

looks like I am encountering this issue too.
WebGUI showing its available but it never updates.
On X11, C50 and R1, unsure about other models in the field…

Hello,

If understood correct, both of you guys @BUFFBOY & @AntonioZ are upgrading the modem (not device) firmware to the latest, according to what the WebUI is telling you, and after the upgrade the modem version stays the same & the notification stays as well?

M.

before

after

Yes exactly

Updating the mĂłdem firmware through the webui (takes a lot of time) and then later when refreshing the page I can see that the modem registered firmware is the last one but the webui keeps saying there is a new update modem firmare to install.
When trying to install returns an error.
Likely a variable not changed properly.

Hm.. I’ve sent a form to both of you, @AntonioZ write the ticket ID as 14792 & @BUFFBOY write the Ticket ID as 14792-2 I’ll reach out to both of you through e-mail and I’ll need both of your troubleshoot files (Can be found under System → Maintenance → Troubleshoot → Download.

Same here.

RUTX11 with modem firmware EG06ELAR04A23M4G.
The WebGUI tells me an update for the modem firmware is available.

When I try to apply the modem firmware update the update fails after 10-15 seconds.

Noticed this morning while the device was still running firmware RUTX_R_00.07.15.4 - not sure about the error message though.

Updated the device firmware to RUTX_R_00.07.16.1, the modem firmware update still fails.
I get an error message “Firmware update verify was unsuccessful”.

Can I have a ticket # for this too as I am experiencing this error also… @Matas

Hi, @ccandy79 sent a form, ID 14792-3, @luckman212 ID 14792-4

looks like multiple users with same issue..

btw.. how do i upload the logs using that form link i got ? its nowhere for me to select what to upload ?

I’ll send you an e-mail and you can just reply to it by attaching the file.

ok gotcha. done

Thanks to you guys, the R&D has found the root cause of the issue and are actively working on resolving it.

Thank you once again for your co-operation.

Todays remote session with a R&D guy gave me a hint to check further and I could find the cause of the problem on my device.

When setting up my SSL certificate I messed up the Root CA file /etc/ssl/certs/ca-certificates.crt. That caused both the package manager and modem update to fail.

After reseting the Root CA via WebGUI modem update and package manager work fine for me.

Thank you for the support.

Hi, having trouble finding where to reset root CA….

ok got it. thanks

Yes, that worked 100%! I had uploaded my own certificates and this was the reason why modem firmawre can’t be downloaded from Teltonicas servers, after reseting it it updated just fine!
