Hi,
I’ve just received 2 new RUT956 devices and was going to insert SD cards for storrage expansion as usual but there is no SD slot in these devices. Is that a production mistake or are they no longer supported?
Regards Peter

Greetings,
I have removed the serial number you provided in the post. Please refrain from sharing private information publicly in the future.
Regarding the SD card slot, RUT956 routers manufactured after Q3 2024 do have one, but it is an internal microSD card slot, so you will need to open the device by removing the back panel and pulling out the PCB board to reach the SD card socket. Please make sure the device is powered off when you are disassembling it.

Hi Justinas,
Thank you for answering and correcting my request.
I’m aware of how to insert the SD card and have done it before, but these devices have no socket mounted so it isn’t possible.
Regards Peter
Thank you for your clarification.
After reviewing the serial number you provided, we can confirm that your RUT956 device was manufactured prior to the implementation of microSD card support for this model. As a result, the device does not include a microSD card slot.
We apologize for any inconvenience this caused. For more specific information regarding your order, we recommend reaching out directly to your supplier, as they may be able to provide additional details based on your original order.
