There is a known issue affecting older RG520NEBD modem firmware versions. If you are experiencing issues with your mobile connection and your device is using an RG520NEBD modem, please check your modem firmware version.
If your modem is currently running firmware version A05, please update it using the WebUI DFOTA method. Updates from older firmware versions to the latest A06 version will also be available soon, so please keep an eye on upcoming updates.
To update the modem firmware:
Log in to device WebUI.
Navigate to System → Firmware → Update Firmware → Modem update
Proceed with the update from the server
For TRB-series devices, please leave a comment under this post and we will contact you privately to assist with the modem firmware update.
If you encounter any issues after applying the update, please reply here and we will ensure the matter receives prompt attention.
For the TRB501 specifically, A02 is the latest. RG520NEBDCR03A06M4G_A0.300.A0.300 is for RUTC50/RUTX50, etc. The reason being, the TRB501 modem firmware is built on the Quectel firmware (imagine an SDK on our devices).
I paste the words from Quectel support (below) when I proposed the actual A02 you are using for TRB501. I hope you can do something at least for firmware A05. I have the files below, but of course I will do nothing without your authorization. TRB501 with A02 (Quectel modem firmware) is limited in signal processing and unusable for bridge/passthrough (Teltonika gateway firmware) not passing the wan public ip to the ethernet interface.
I’ve currently put the TRB 501 in “stand-by”, hoping you can help me use it. Before purchasing it, I even wrote to your support team to explain my passthrough needs, and they advised me to purchase the TRB501. I would need more for my customers. I only now understand the RUTxxx series would have been the correct solution, setting passthrough and disabling the router and Wi-Fi.

Your firmware is too old, it is better to backup QCN before upgrade.
Thank you for your feedback. We apologize for any inconvenience caused and have forwarded your observations to our RnD team for further analysis.
Regarding the firmware version, our developers compile the SDK provided by Quectel specifically for our devices. As @Matas mentioned, A02 is currently the latest firmware version available for your device.
Once we receive additional information or feedback from our RnD team, we will keep you informed.
We are aware of this topic, and the issues described here may also be related to the modem firmware. All relevant information has already been forwarded to our RnD team for further investigation.
Because the TRB501 without passthrough is unusable (before purchasing it, I even wrote to your support team to explain my passthrough needs, and they advised me to purchase the TRB501) and I understand you need time to solve this problem,
may I can be sure of which RUTCxx/RUTXxx model I can buy to reach my two targets perfectly wornikg ?
a) latest modem firmware, stable for EU (A05 or A06)
b) chance to transfor it in passthrough with public wan IP turned on ethernet side
In the grand scheme of things, we haven’t been getting that many reports of issues with passthrough or bridge modes (or mobile for that matter) when it comes to RUTC50/RUTX50 devices, though they can happen, in which case, we do provide support. As you may already be aware, there are new modem firmware versions for the RG520NEBD modem, which fixes these issues, so just in case - updating is always possible even on your own.
The A06 version is available for download via the Web interface of the device, under the Firmware update section.
My recommendation: If you haven’t already, please create a topic explaining your use case, we’ll get a support agent assigned to the thread, and have them test the setup locally to ensure functionality, after which, we can get into further conclusions of what device you can opt for purchasing. Would this be okay with you?
