Issues with Configuring GPS Tracking on Teltonika Devices

Hello Teltonika Community,

I am fairly new to using Teltonika’s GPS fleet tracking hardware and am having a few challenges in properly configuring the devices. I am able to successfully connect the devices, although I am experiencing issues with tracking accuracy and frequency. The device does not seem to provide a reliable position update and the locations seem to be offset by a few meters.

I have referred to the user manual to update the settings for position reporting, but I do not seem to find a change. I checked the firmware version as well and it is up to date.

Has anyone else experienced a similar issue? Are there any other settings or tips to improve gps tracking accuracy or a way to target the reporting frequency?

I came across this website:https://community.teltonika.lt/t/gps-tracking-of-sailing-boats-with-tmt250/11323/cissp-certification but still facing issues.

If anyone has experience integrating Teltonika units to a 3rd party fleet management software, I would like to hear about that as well.

I appreciate your feedback and look forward to your help!
Best regards,
nutrv

Dear @nutrv,

I hope you are doing well. I recommend you to check the Data Acquisition settings of the device as this would define when the device would report GPS coordinates to your server.

For testing, you may set the Min Period and Send Period at a certain value, such as 60 seconds (the device would send every 1 minute), as per the setting on On Stop and Moving. More information can be found through this link: FMC130 Data acquisition settings - Teltonika Telematics Wiki

On the other hand, if you want to integrate the device on a 3rd Party platform, you need to integrate the Teltonika Codec Protocol, which you can find on this link: Codec - Teltonika Telematics Wiki

Hope this helps.

Best regards,
Patrick
