Hello,
I have a VPN client running on the RUT241, but when I try to turn it off using an SMS command, it doesn’t work.
The VPN client name is “instance1,” and I am sending the SMS command: 12345 vpnoff instance1, where 12345 is the device admin password.
I also tried turning on the non-working VPN client using SMS, but it still doesn’t work. All other SMS commands are working as expected. When requesting the VPN status, I receive the response: inst1 - Connected. I tried using inst1 instead of instance1, but the same problem persists.
I would like to clarify that the SMS utility you mentioned can only be used to enable or disable OpenVPN specifically.
Regarding the issue you’re facing, please ensure that your device is running the latest 7.12 firmware. You can download it from the following link: 7.12 Firmware Download
Let me know how it goes, and feel free to reach out if you need further assistance!
After sending over 20 messages in different formats, one with the password disabled vpnoff inst2 worked (the OpenVPN client name is vpn), but I had no luck turning it back on. Despite sending 20+ messages, the client is still disconnected. Are there any other settings I need to change, or is the firmware not working correctly?
The issue is expected to be fixed in the RutOS 7.14 firmware version. Unfortunately, I don’t have an exact release date yet, but I will keep you updated if there are any updates.
