Issue with Bi-Directional VPN Connection Using RMS VPN Hubs

Hello everyone,

I am currently working with Teltonika’s RMS VPN Hub feature to establish a connection between two RUT950 devices, which I will refer to as Device A and Device B. Here is the setup:

  • Device A has a computer with the IP address 192.168.1.10 connected to it.
  • Device B has a computer with the IP address 192.168.1.20 connected to it.

I have successfully used the RMS VPN application on the computer connected to Device A (192.168.1.10) to connect to the computer connected to Device B (192.168.1.20) using the Hercules application. However, I am facing an issue where I need the computer with IP 192.168.1.20 to connect back to 192.168.1.10 without using the RMS VPN app.

Current Configuration:

  1. RMS VPN Hub: Configured to allow both Device A and Device B to connect to each other.
  2. Device A (192.168.1.10): Can successfully connect to Device B (192.168.1.20) using Hercules with the help of RMS VPN app.
  3. Device B (192.168.1.20): Needs to connect back to Device A (192.168.1.10) without using RMS VPN app.

Despite having a working one-way connection from Device A to Device B, I am unable to establish a connection in the reverse direction from Device B to Device A without utilizing the RMS VPN app. My goal is to have bi-directional connectivity without installing additional software on the computer at 192.168.1.20.

I would greatly appreciate any guidance or suggestions on how to configure this setup to allow Device B to connect to Device A without the need for the RMS VPN application. If anyone has experience with a similar setup or can point me in the right direction, it would be extremely helpful.

Thank you for your time and assistance.

Hi mertb05,

Welcome to Teltonika Networks Community!

With your current set-up, for Device B to communicate back to Device A, RMS VPN app should be installed in both devices. There are options to have remote connectivity without VPN but it would require specialised IP (Public IP or Private APN Sim Cards). Kindly contact your ISP to have more information.

Let me know if this helps.

Regards,
