Issue setting up port forwarding

Hi

I have replaced a defective TP-Link with the RUTX50 and I am trying to configure everything again so my setup is working.

behind my RUTX is a Unifi Express so I basically need to forward the traffic to the specific device. That is where I encounter some issues. I tried to forward port 5000 for my synology no matter what I try I am unable to reach the device through my public IP (no double NAT I do have a public IP since I have bought that option from m ISP). Accessing the device from the RUTX50 lan is possible through the Unifi Express IP, which means the forwarding on the Unifi Express is working fine.

What do I have missed here? Is there something special with Teltonika I am not aware of?

Tried DMZ, Port Forwarding, Traffic Rules, NAT Rules and combinations, but no matter what I do I am unable to access anything from WAN side.

Any help is very much appreciated.

Christian

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out.

Could you please provide a simple network topology diagram (including IP addresses) of your setup, or clarify to which device you are trying to forward WAN port 5000 traffic?

Also, could you confirm whether there is any firewall enabled on the UniFi Express that might be filtering inbound connections?

If you haven’t already, please check the guide on port forwarding setup for accessing LAN devices available here:

Best regards,

Hi,

Here a short topologie of the situation.

All starting with the Unifi Express is existing and was working with the old modem. I only replaced it with the RUTX50. No firewall or anything blocks the access to the NAS or camera. NAS accessible from Laptop hooked to the RUTX50 via 192.168.11.165:5000 or 5001. Same for other ports listed that finaly should be working from WAN again.

Port 5000 was just the one I mentioned right now to get it working others will have to as well.

I also checked the knowledge article and several topics and other sources, but was unable to find a solution so far. do not understand why it isn’t working after the port forwarding was put in place.

any help is very much appreciated.

Christian

Hello,

Apologies for the delay.

Just to confirm, according to your setup, you want to forward traffic from the RUTX50 WAN to devices on the UniFi LAN network, correct? And you already have a port forwarding rule configured on the UniFi side to allow traffic from WAN port 5000 to LAN port 5000?

Could you please share screenshots of your port forwarding rule configurations from both devices (with any sensitive information hidden)?

Best regards,
