Greetings, @Gladbach ,
Apologies for the delayed response and thank you for the detailed description of the issue and the troubleshooting steps already carried out.
The reject message you are seeing - “EPS Service not allowed in this PLMN” - is a standard 3GPP network reject cause (cause #14). It is issued by the mobile operator’s network when that network does not have an active roaming agreement in place for the SIM/eSIM’s home subscription. This is a network-side authorization response, not a router configuration parameter, which is consistent with what you’re observing: the Vodafone eSIM continues to work normally on the same router, while the Roamic profile fails regardless of APN, network type, or operator selection changes.
We have seen this same reject cause reported with Roamic eSIM profiles on another RUTX/RUTC device. In that case, our support team confirmed the cause was on the operator side and advised the customer to raise it directly with their eSIM provider, since only the provider (via their roaming partner agreements) can resolve a cause #14 rejection.
Please see this topic:
Before escalating to Roamic, could you please help us confirm a few details on the router side, so we can fully rule out a configuration factor:
- Please go to Network → Mobile → General configuration and confirm that “Deny data roaming” is set to Off for the Roamic eSIM.
- Please check Network → Mobile → General → Interface mob1s1a1 APN configuration and let us know the exact APN currently set (auto or manual) at the moment the reject occurs.
- Please go to Network → Mobile → Network selection and run an operator scan. Could you send us the list of operators/PLMNs shown, and confirm which one the router attempts to connect to when the reject cause appears?
- What country/location is the router in when this occurs - is it the same each time, or does it vary?
- Could you let us know which firmware version is currently installed on the router?
With this information, and the operator/PLMN identified in step 3, we would recommend contacting Roamic support directly and providing them with the exact reject cause (“EPS Service not allowed in this PLMN”) and the PLMN in question, so they can verify whether their roaming agreement covers that network. This is the only way this specific cause can be resolved, as it originates outside the router.
We will be happy to review further once we have the above details.
Best regards,
V.
