Is RUTX50 able to use a LAN which has a captive portal?

Good evening,

We use the RUTX50 primarily for mobile use to live stream lectures, where it works great

Now we are increasingly being invited to locations where we can get to the Internet with a LAN connection - but this is protected by a captive portal.

Therefore, the question is:
Can the RUTX50 also be configured to access the internet via LAN which is protected by a captive portal?

Thank you very much for any help!,
kind regards,
Thomas

If the captive portal is over WiFi, then the travelmate/hotspot functionality is embeded in RutOS without having to install any package.

See this example Connecting to a Hotspot WiFi for Internet Connectivity - Teltonika Networks Wiki

Thank you, Mike, for your answer!

But, as I have tried to explain in the subject and in the description  (english is even complicated with DeepL), the captive portal is NOT on the WLAN, but on the LAN interface.

Thanks a lot, kind regards,
Thomas

Hello,

If you are referring to an Ethernet LAN connection, unfortunately, our devices do not support this feature. However, as Mike mentioned, you can set up a captive portal with a wireless connection (hotspot). This can achieve similar functionality for user authentication and redirection. Let me know if you need any assistance with the setup.

Best regards,
