Is Headscale now a thing?

Hello there,

I was wondering whether Teltonika routers now work with Headscale?

Best regards,

Hannes

Greetings,

Yes, you may use a Headscale server.

In the login server field of the Tailscale configuration, provide the base URL of a control server. If you are using Headscale for your control server, use your Headscale instance’s URL.

More information about Tailscale can be found here: https://wiki.teltonika-networks.com/view/RUTM52_VPN#Tailscale

Justinas

Okay, I wasn’t sure whether Headscale is officially supported now.

However, I noticed during a test today that preauth keys entered via the Web UI are limited to 64 characters.
Headscale preauth keys, however, are significantly longer and also contain “_” characters, which are not allowed via the Web UI (I am currently using version 7.20.3).

Using the CLI, I was able to establish a connection with tailscale up and a preauth key, but then found that advertised routes apparently are not accepted despite using --advertise-routes. Routes that were advertised with --advertise-routes are, however, listed on the Headscale server.

Best Regards,

Hannes
