Intermittent Wi-Fi Disconnections and Congestion (Since Summer)

I’m experiencing severe Wi-Fi instability and congestion on my network - only with wireless nodes - (under 30 devices) since this summer.

The issue: Some devices are randomly disconnected and unable to reconnect. Wi-Fi browsing is slow or non-functional. I must reboot the router or the Wi-Fi module to temporarily fix it. Device logs show frequent disconnects, even from devices closest to the antennas.

Configuration & Troubleshooting:

  • Channel: Currently set to Channel 6 (100% utilization).

  • Settings: Default general settings.

  • Firmware: Latest updates did not resolve the issue.

  • Other attempts: Lowering signal power (from High to Medium) and ruling out temperature as the cause have had no effect.

I need assistance in finding a permanent solution for this instability.

Greetings,

How does your network setup look? Are your devices all in a wireless mesh, or just completely separate Wi-Fi access points? I believe a topology of your network would help us out a lot here.

Not only are the placements important, but also the kinds of devices that are being used here, are they all Teltonika? What antennas are you using together with our devices?

Regards,
M.

Good morning, my network consists of a single router (Teltonika RUTXR1) which acts as a gateway, DHCP server and single access point.

I have two other simple LAN switches (5 ports) to which some devices are connected which are not always turned on. Most of the wireless clients connected to the router are cell phones, smart TVs, ESP32 nodes, etc.

The router is equipped with only the two omnidirectional antennas supplied with it, everything has always worked excellently, I have only enabled access on the 2.4GHz network.

When disconnections occur, I noticed that the degradation is only on the Wi-Fi part, in fact the pings on the ETH nodes maintain minimal latencies.
