Interface-based VLAN page - refers to VLAN "device"?

In Firmware 7.07.3, there is some odd wording on the VLAN / Interface Based page:

Should this not say “New VLAN Name” instead of “New Device Name” ?

Also, why this arbitrary restriction? This VLAN name should not be limited to 8 chars?

These issues are not related to the 07.07.03 update; they existed beforehand. However, I will ask our R&D department about both concerns, especially the 8-character limit in naming.

Currently, this limitation is in place to prevent issues with edge case interactions. In future updates, this limit will be increased. Regarding the naming, ‘New Device Name’ is correct as it creates a new device of VLAN type. However, R&D will consider a name change.
