Installation problem

My RUTX50 has been installed only 200mm below the antenna. Will this cause a problem?

Hello,

If you’re referring to having the router installed 20 cm below the actual antenna, then it won’t cause any technical issues at all, in fact, keeping antenna cable runs short is generally a good practice. Just make sure the antenna cables are tidy, not routed in parallel with power cables to avoid interference, and that the SMA connectors are properly and securely tightened.

Feel free to reach out if you have any additional questions.

Hello Martynas

Thank you for your swift reply.

Yes, the Poynting MIMO 3-17 V2 antenna is on the vehicle roof, just above the router with the cables coiled underneath it on the inside of the vehicle before going into the router. The 12v cable is bundled up where the 7 antenna cables pass through a hole in a cupboard wall. I’ll take your advice and move that 12v cable, just in case. There are no mains cables nearer than 500mm. I have swooped out one of the WiFi cables from the antenna with one of the stubby WiFi antenna sold with the router and positioned it nearby in the vehicle. This has increased the WiFi in the vehicle considerably.

Thank you for your help, kind regards.
