Howto update firmware RUT9xx_R_00.02.132 to latest possible firmware?

I have a working Rut950, gen1
Firmware: RUT9XX_R_00.02.132
Firmware buikd date: 02-03-2016
Kernel version: 3.10.36

On the motherboard is the following information:
RUT9XX_Main_07
17721870
P_016 RUT950

Is there a plan how i can update to the latest firmware possible and howto do this?
At Dalmation they said that it is complex,
and I better can buy a new one.

I am an IT technical Consultant and if it is possible and secure
I want to try it.
Is there also a backup firmware RUT9XX_R_00.02.132 available?

I hope someone can help me, because the hardware is very OK.

Greetings,

I’ve skimmed through the older available firmware versions and was not able to find an available download for the 02.132 firmware version - this is probably due to the fact that the firmware is >7 years old and is no longer available for download.

Regarding upgrading - it depends on which firmware you want to upgrade to, would it be the latest legacy or the latest normal firmware? Since your device sounds to be very old, I would presume that at best, you’d be able to upgrade to the latest legacy firmware, due to some limitations with older devices not being able to upgrade to the normal firmware:

If your device product code contains G1, then this is likely the case for you.

What you need to do then is simply head to our firmware download page: RUT950 Firmware Downloads - Teltonika Networks Wiki

And download the latest legacy firmware file:

You should then proceed with logging into your device’s web interface, heading to System → Firmware → Update Firmware:

And simply upload your file - since we’re unchecking “keep all settings”, all of our configurations, passwords, etc. will be erased. We’re doing this due to the fact that we’re making a jump from an old major version, to the latest, and we’d like to avoid any migration-related issues.

M.
