How to Increase DHCP range (LAN) over 255 on RUT955

Hi

I am using RUT955 as the DHCP server for my network, I have over 255 devices, so I configured the LAN as 10.24.128.1, 255.255.254.0 and expect to use a range from 10.24.128.9 to 10.24.129.xxx. But the limit I can give is only up to 255. Any solution would be highly appreciated.

Thanks
Saman

Hi,

To achieve this, you’ll need to change your network mask to one that allows more IP addresses. Instead of the usual mask 255.255.255.0 (providing 254 addresses), use 255.255.254.0 (providing 512 addresses). For additional guidance, you can refer to a similar community post here.

Hi Marijus

thank you for your reply, the subnet mask is already 255.255.254.0

Hi,

Have you been able to use a broader range of IP addresses with this set?

Best regards,

Marijus

Hi

Yes, I can assign a static IP for the complete range.

Thank you

Hi

I use also the Zerotier for remote access and I have no issue accessing devices if I assign a static IP.

Thank you
