I’m using RUT976 firmware version 7.20.3. I have files on an SD card in the router that I’d like to make discoverable, but I am unable to find a version of SAMBA. Efforts to download it while in the CLI from downloads.wrt.org result in an operation not permitted error. Is there already file publishing support? If not, does anyone have any advice? Thank you!
Hello,
No additional packages need to be installed to be able to use SAMBA, you simply head under Services → SD & USB Tools and you’ll find the configuration there. More information, you can find on our Wiki: Network share using SAMBA - Teltonika Networks Wiki & RUT976 SD & USB Tools - Teltonika Networks Wiki
Additional note, for installing packages, you would use opkg install <package_name> - you may need to use custom feeds to install packages that aren’t officially supported by us, though.

M.
Hi, thank you for the response. I updated the firmware to 7.21.1 and dont see the SAMBA support you referenced. I know there is support for the non Redcap routers. Is the 976 different? Thanks.
Hi there,
Could you try heading to WebUI → System → Package Manager and search for the package named Network Shares?
I think I might’ve made a mistake when saying that there’s no need for an extra package, as my RUTX11, for some reason, has the section for SAMBA without having had to install any extra packages. Sorry for the confusion.

M.
Thank you! Yes, I was able to install it.
Sounds great! Enjoy!
