Home folder of admin user has wrong permissions on rutx50

Hello,

I just want to report that home of user admin is owned by root:
admin@Teltonika-RUTX50:/usr/local/home$ ll
drwxr-xr-x 1 root root 352 Jan 1 1970 ./
drwxr-xr-x 1 root root 352 Jan 1 1970 ../
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 232 Jun 19 16:38 admin/
drwxrwxr-x 2 ftp ftp 160 Jan 1 1970 ftp/
drwxrwx— 1 root root 472 Jun 18 16:48 root/

As a result user admin has no rights to write in its home folder.
I was on firmware RUTX_R_00.07.15 when I noticed it and had changed it to be owned by admin. But after upgrading to RUTX_R_00.07.15.1 and permissions of /usr/local/home/admin has been changed again to be under root ownership.

Is there a reason this happens?

Hello,

There have been changes that were released with the 7.14 firmware version, when it comes to permissions, you can read up on it more here: Implementation of Read-Only System Files and Mobile and I/O POST/GET Service Removal with RutOS 7.14

M.

Yeah I read about those a few back. However still there is no reason for admin user’s home to be owned by root. Perhaps this is a minor thing to be fixed in a next firmware upgrade.
