Hi I have a TRB500 and I want to use output 1
to control a relay.
I measure 24 v dc constantly on the connector even though I trigger it in the web interface
Hello malintha84,
I can try to assist. If you could help provide additional answers I can help with your setup.
-
When you are powering the device up, are you using the PSU provided with the unit?
-
How are you wiring the TRB500 to your relay? Can you provide a picture or diagram?
-
How are you measuring voltage in your setup?
Things to note about our device:
-
The “Digital Open Collector Output” pin on the Teltonika Gateways does not output 24V voltage, and should instead be treated as a controllable GND pin. The “30VDC, 0.3A” rating describes the maximum voltage and current values supported by this pin.
-
Turning the “Output” Pin state to “On” should give you GND on the “Output” pin. You can check that by measuring the continuity between the “Output” Pin and Ground. When the state is “Off” there should be no continuity between GND and “Output” Pin, once the state changes to “On” - there should be continuity.
-
Additionally you can also SSH into the device and use this command
ubus call ioman.gpio.dio0 status
. This should return the current state of the output pin, and will update immediately once you use the toggle in the WebUI.
- To power up or control an external device, you would need to connect the negative contact from the external device to the “Output” pin on the TRB500.
An example schematic of how such a connection should look can be found here ( RUT240 Relay to Open Collector Output - Teltonika Networks Wiki )
Please let me know if this additional information was helpful, or when you answer the initial questions I can provide further assistance.
