Help choosing router for underwater vehicle

We’re looking for a cellular router to be installed in a small underwater vehicle.

We need at least two wired Ethernet ports and 4G LTE and WiFi radios in a compact, low-power package.

The best fit I’ve found thus far is the RUT271

However, it lacks a USB port and runs a very slow MIPS processor. And, it does not have enough flash memory to run Tailscale.

Is there another Teltonika product we might consider? Something like the RUT271, but with USB, more flash and faster processor… 5G is not important to us. If we get a reliable 1 megabit/s over the cellular, we’re quite happy

Will you have any signal down below to feed the cellular?

Greetings,

At present, we do not offer a device as compact as the RUT2xx series that also supports all of your required features.

Please note that the Tailscale VPN package is supported only on the TRB1 (excluding TRB160), TRB5, RUTX, and RUTM series devices.

Based on your requirements, the RUTM11 would be the best fit (https://www.teltonika-networks.com/products/routers/rutm11
). It is currently available in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Australia, and Brazil. If you are located outside of these regions, I would recommend the RUTX11 (https://www.teltonika-networks.com/products/routers/rutx11
). This model is very similar to the RUTM11, with the added support for Bluetooth, though it does have higher power consumption.

Best Regards,
Justinas

No. But the vehicles surface at regular intervals for comms and nav updates.
