Flush connection explication

Hi,
Can you explain the FLUSH CONNECTION OPTION ?

I use it for failover access between SATELITE KA-SAT connection and 4G connection.

4G in first and SAT in second.

I need to cut all the traffic when the wan interface change for be sure the vpn goes again online. The vpn is a dialup one so is automatic when we have internet but I need to cut the backup connection when the principal one comeback online.

On the past I use flush connection disconnected and connected but I am not sure about the explication of this function.

On my config I use : Connected for 4G and Disconnected for the Satellite.

From my comprehension it’s like : When 4G is connected it’s comeback to the 4G all the traffic and for the satellite Disconnected all the traffic when the 4G goes online.

It’s that ?

Hi Com-IP,

Welcome to Teltonika Networks Community!

Flush connection options will occur if any selected instances happened. Let’s say Connected is chosen for mob1s1a1 interface. Whenever 4G becomes an active WAN source, all connections will be flushed. Flush messages should appear in log files.

Let me know if this helps.

Hi,

4G is in connected mode and WAN on DISCONNECTED for the flush connection config.

But I don’t have any message from Flush connection on the logs…

So i’m not sure about the configuration. The only message was for FAILOVER mode

Hi,

I tried a local testing for failover with flush options and only disconnected triggered the flushing. Can you try using Interface Up/Down instead?

Regards,

Hi,

I can’t made up and down because my wan interface can’t be down when I have a cable connected and same for the 4G if the card is insered.

I just want to clarify what is the explication of “Disconnected” and “Connected” on the flush menu. I don’t find any documentation or explication on Teltonika website or on the community.

Please send the definition for understand perfectly this option.

At this time I see perfectly the interface UP and standby but I want to know exactly what’s happening.

I have two router in prod with same configuration, same technologies and not the same result.

For one of them : Ping OK on PRIMARY LINK Public IP and PING OK on secondary LINK PUBLIC IP

For the second one : PING OK on PRIMARY LINK PUBLIC IP and PING NOK on secondary LINK.

For me the second one works better like the first one because not any traffic can works for the secondary link.

Hi Any news ?

Hi,

I have tried to do a set-up where a primary WAN source will be disconnected but interface is still up. I ran logread -f command and have received the following logs.

I am using the current version 7.10.

Regards,

Nice I see it. So I have an other question why the second wan interface reply to the ping if it’s in Standby mode ? How we can block it from outside (like disconnected totaly) and only up when the wan interface is down ?
