Firmware 7.14 concerns

RUTX50 I have my own files and programs running under /usr/xxxx and I configured updates not remove my rc.local or crontab

Will this upgrade mess everything I done ?

Read-only root filesystem for maximum reliability

Most notably, the root filesystem is now set to read-only by default. This change protects critical system files from unauthorised or accidental modifications, helping maintain long-term device stability.

While standard configurations remain unaffected, advanced users who require more flexibility will still be able to implement custom firmware solutions.

Yes, /usr is read-only, unless you are using /usr/local or /usr/share then you will be fine. More information can be found in Implementation of Read-Only System Files and Mobile and I/O POST/GET Service Removal with RutOS 7.14 - #4 by Marija topic.

Then I stay away from future updates until I hade time to reconfig and recode a lot of things. This warning should be huge, many times I just click update and is fine.,… Luckly I read up this time… Teltonika could ruin alot over the summer for me when all need to be stable.

What about crontab’s ?

Hello @fableman,

Apologies for the delayed response.

Crontab functionality remains the same as in previous firmware versions.

Best regards,
