Feature Request: Native OpenID Connect (OIDC) or SAML Support for RUTX50 (Without RMS)

Dear Teltonika Team,

I am managing a fleet of 60 RUTX50 routers and need to integrate them with our self-hosted SSO solution (Authelia) for centralized authentication. Currently, the lack of native OpenID Connect (OIDC) or SAML support in the RUTX50 firmware forces us to implement complex workarounds (e.g., reverse proxy-based authentication), which adds unnecessary overhead.

Key Points:

  1. We do not want to use Teltonika RMS for authentication. Our requirement is for native OIDC/SAML support in the router’s firmware, allowing us to connect directly to our own identity provider.

  2. Are there any plans to add OIDC or SAML support to the RUTX50 in future firmware updates? If so, could you share a timeline or roadmap?

  3. If this feature is not planned, are there APIs or hidden configuration options we could leverage to achieve SSO integration without relying on RMS?

We’d greatly appreciate any updates or guidance on this topic. Thank you for your time!

Best regards,

Aurélien Peleszezak

what fix the oidc that the router cannot highjacked?

open ID Connect is for websites … ??? or you plan to make your router public?

Greetings,

I wasn’t able to find any notes or details about this being planned.

While not exactly hidden, I may propose looking into Radius server authentication: Setting up external Radius server for RUTOS authentication - Teltonika Networks Wiki

Let me know if this is something that you would be interested in, and if not, I’ll go ahead and register the suggestion then.

Regards,
M.
