Dear Community,
We’d like to take a moment to explain how the trust system in our community forum works, and what badges you can earn as you engage more.
Our forum uses five user trust levels. You can see your current trust level on your user page, and a summary of all trust levels is available on your dashboard.
Trust levels are designed to:
- Help prevent accidental issues by newcomers.
- Gradually unlock more abilities as you become more experienced.
- Empower trusted users to help others and contribute to maintaining the forum.
Trust Level 0 – New
All new users start at Trust Level 0. At this stage, you’re just getting familiar with our community norms and how things work. Some abilities are restricted for safety, and some advanced features are hidden to reduce complexity until you gain more experience.
Trust Level 0 users cannot:
- Flag posts
- Post more than 1 image
- Upload attachments
- Post more than 2 hyperlinks per post
- Add actual links in their “About Me” section (these will be temporarily converted to plain text)
- Mention more than 2 users in a post
- Create more than 3 topics
- Post more than 10 replies
- Edit posts after 24 hours
Trust Level 1 – Basic
New users who spend a little time reading will quickly reach this first level of trust.
Requirements:
- View at least 5 topics
- Read at least 30 posts
- Spend at least 10 minutes reading posts
Abilities unlocked at Trust Level 1:
- Use all core features (restrictions from Trust Level 0 are lifted)
- Upload images and attachments (if enabled)
- Flag posts
- Mute other users
Trust Level 2 – Member
You earn this level by regularly visiting, reading, and participating.
Requirements:
- Visit on at least 15 different days
- Cast at least 1 like and receive 1 like
- Reply to at least 3 different topics
- View at least 20 topics
- Read at least 100 posts
- Spend at least 60 minutes reading posts
New abilities:
- Increased daily limits on likes, edits, and flags (1.5×)
- Ignore other users
- Edit your own posts for up to 30 days
Trust Level 3 – Regular
Regulars are the most consistent and reliable contributors in the community. You’re active, helpful, and familiar with the culture and rules.
To earn this level (within the last 100 days):
- Visit at least 50% of the days
- Reply to at least 10 different topics
- View 25% of all topics created in the last 100 days
- Read 25% of all posts created in the last 100 days
- Receive at least 20 likes and give 30 likes
- No more than 5 spam/offensive flags (from unique users/posts, confirmed by a moderator)
- No suspensions or silencing in the past 6 months
Note: These likes must come from a diverse set of users (at least 1/5th of the number) and on different days (at least 1/4th of the number).
Important: Unlike lower levels, Trust Level 3 can be lost if you no longer meet the above criteria. However, there’s a 2-week grace period after promotion before demotion can occur.
Additional privileges:
- TL3 flags on TL0 user posts immediately hide them
- Sufficient TL3 flags can auto-silence TL0 users
- Daily limits for likes, edits, and flags are increased by 2×
Trust Level 4 – Leader
Leaders are long-standing, highly trusted members who set the tone for the community. They act almost like moderators and serve as role models.
How to get here:
- Manual promotion by forum staff only
Leader privileges:
- Edit any post
- Pin/unpin topics
- Close, archive, or unlist topics
- Split or merge topics
- Reset topic bump dates
- Daily limits for likes, edits, and flags are increased by 3×
- Any TL4 flag hides the post immediately
Note: Forum administrators can change trust level permissions for individual users. If you feel a limitation is preventing your contribution, please contact us via the forum and explain why you need an exception — we’ll review and consider your request.
Warm regards,
Your Support Team
