Explaination of alternative control functions?

Hello, I have a FMM130, CAN-CONTROL IMMO and Fiat Ducato 250 (EURO 5 PLUS). Program number is 12677 and I connected them using the wiring diagram of FIAT_DUCATO_EURO5_PLUS_250_2014_en.pdf (2022-12-15). But only CAN1 and CAN2, not the alternative lines yet, as I have a few questions about:

1. What does it mean, if a function is “Alternative Control”? Is it mandatory to connect by wire, because it is not achievable by CAN?

In the schematics PDF are two lines for left and right turn blinker. However CAN-CONTROL has only one single line called “Alternative turn signal control”.
2. How are they supposed to be connected to CAN-CONTROL? The PDF is unclear.

I kindly ask you to answer question 1 and 2. Thank you!

Hello @womacko

Good day, for installation support kindly create a HD ticket.

Please find my answers below:

  1. Correct. If an alternative wire is used, we use this wire to control the central lock. But it’s not possible to control the central lock only by using the alternative wire, because we also use CAN BUS data for it.

  2. The left and right blinkers wires - not needed for central lock control, however if you need the blinkers to activate when locking/unlocking, please connect these wires to the alternative blinkers wire of CAN-CONTROL through a diode.

Thanks for your detailed answer. It helped me understand how the system works together.

  1. Oh wow, I was not aware of this.

  2. So the blinker-control is only for locking/unlocking? Can they be controlled with the GPRS-command lvcanturninglights ?

Can you further explain how to proceed with the wiring? I rather prefer to have it sketeched out in the schema PDF, if possible…

Kind regards,
Kim
