Exit the Read-Only system's state - RUT956

Hi,

I am facing an issue with a router RUT956. The Root Partition of the device is entered in read-only mode. I think the cause of this problem is that the disk space in use is 96%. Indeed, when I log in into the device through SSH, the device returns this message: “Your JFFS2-partition seems full and overlayfs is mounted read-only. Please try to remove files from /overlay/upper/… and reboot!”
However, every time I try to run the command “rm” on some files, the system replies with “can’t remove […]: Read-only file system”. Moreover, I cannot unmount the root partition while the device is running and the fsck utility is not installed on the device (so I cannot check the integrity of the disk).

How can I solve this situation?

Best regards,
Federico

Hello,

Could you please try resetting the router for testing purposes and check if the issue still persists? You can find detailed instructions on how to perform a factory reset here: RUT956 Device Recovery Options - Factory Reset.
