Equivalent to RUT-955 of a few years ago with 1Gbit Ethernet?

Hi,

I was wondering if you cold help me. We are currently using some old models RUT-955 (id is RUT95517V180) and we would like to upgrade them to the newer version of the router. I had a look at the RUT-956 but its Ethernet Ports speed is 10/100 and we need 10/100/1000 like the Ethernet Ports on our current old RUT-955.

I see that there are several routers that have the 10/100/1000 speed for the ethernet ports but I am unsure which would be the best like for like replacement for the old RUT-955.

Any suggestion or recommendations?

Many thanks

Mike

Greetings, @mikec
Thank you for reaching out.

We offer a wide range of devices that support 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet speeds. To recommend the most suitable option, could you please describe your current use case and the key features you require in a replacement router?

As an alternative to the RUT955, I would recommend the RUTX11, which supports 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet speeds. The RUTX11 also features a more advanced Wi-Fi setup, offering dual-band Wi-Fi 5 (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) for improved performance, higher data throughput, Bluetooth support for IoT sensors, beacons, short-range integrations, faster LTE (LTE Cat 6 up to ~300 Mbps), eSIM profile support (depending on model), more advanced networking features (load balancing, DNS over HTTPS, VRF).

I also suggest taking a look at our full product lineup on the website, where you can filter devices based on Ethernet speed and other required features: Teltonika Ethernet and 4G/5G Cellular Routers

If you are currently using the RS232 or RS485 serial ports on your RUT955 for industrial machinery, please let me know so I can provide a more tailored recommendation. Some serial functionality can also be achieved on the RUTX11 via its USB port.

Best regards,
Povilas

Thanks for your reply Povilas.

We are having issues migrating from a RUT-955 to RUT-956 and we thought that it might be due to the Ethernet port speed but we are less convinced of that now. We have found a spare TRB-500 (which it has a 10/100/1000 port ) and will test with that on site.

Will update the post with the result of the test.

Thanks again

Mike
