Enable NTP server for LAN in RUTX11

Hello,

Could you please advise on the possibility of enabling an NTP server for our LAN? It is essential for our devices within the LAN network to synchronize their time accurately with the NTP server. I have configured the NTP server address on the RUTX11 gateway; however, it appears that the devices are synchronizing their time with the router instead of the NTP server. Your guidance on resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Should be possible!

Enable NTP server at System → Administration → Date & Time

To automatically “tell” DHCP client devices on your LAN to use the RUTX11 as their NTP server, you can suggest it by passing DHCP option 42:

Network → DHCP → Server Settings → Custom DHCP options

Try enabling the Force option if it still doesn’t work…

Thanks for the instruction. I was wondering if dhcpv4 should be allowed?

Are you using any other device to handle DHCP the network? You shouldn’t have 2 DHCP servers on the same broadcast domain, but generally yes, you would leave the “lan” DHCP server enabled. Otherwise, if you do want to use a different device for your DHCP service, make sure to configure option 42 on it so it directs clients to the NTP running on the RUTX11.
