Does my RUT955 supports E-sims

Dear Teltonika Users,

I am playing around with my RUT955 in combination with a physical E-sim which a have to install with my dongle and put it in the physical slot of the RUT955. On the wiki I saw that the RUT955 can support e-sim. After upgrading the Firmware the E-sim functionality is not visible.

On the Datasheet I see that it is a (optional?). Is there a way to get it working or should I buy another device like the RUT241?

Doesn’t seem that RUT955 supports eSIM out of box, so it’s probably needs custom order for it to support.

As lemondude mentioned, the RUT955 can support eSIM only if a new product code is created, since eSIM requires different hardware.

How can RUT955 support eSIM when the product has already reached end of life?

I was confused because the following information is available on the DATASHEET

SIM 2 x SIM slots (Mini SIM - 2FF), 1.8 V/3 V, external SIM holders, eSIM (Optional).

I now also learned that the RUT955XXX code is the indication of you have the esim version or another one. This was perhaps also the reason I could find examples on the WIKI for the E-SIM support on the RUT955. Never the less I got this one for free and will replace it with a newer version.

Apologies for any confusion. When the RUT955 was still in production, customers could order a custom product code for a version that included eSIM. Now, this is no longer possible because the RUT955 is an EOL (End-of-Life) device as you have mentioned. The information about the RUT955 eSIM only applies to users who previously ordered the device with a custom product code.

If you need a device with eSIM that is still in production, you can either:

1. Contact us via our official website to request a custom product code, or
2. Choose a device that already includes eSIM without creating a custom code.
