We updated a RUTC50 router to RUTC_R_00.07.22.3 (from 22.2), and docker is not avaialable anymore We use docker to run nginx.
Is this normal behaviour that after e firmware upgrade we must reinstall docker + packages?

I just a Teltonika user… but… YES… same issue at my RUTC50… and… not one time… every time I do the updates.. So… I believe it is normal for those devices… I can be wrong…

Had both options on for “Keep settings” for firmware and “Package restore” in the Package manager.
No warnings or anything documented on this matter that I could find, so I would like to ask the kind people at Teltonika if this is a glitch in the RutOS?
edit: I checked to see what would happen after restoring a backup from file, or reverting to a User’s default configuration. Same thing, everything gone.

This is the expected behaviour, when performing a firmware upgrade (sysupgrade / FOTA / WebUI), the router flashes a new root filesystem image, wiping all system binaries, kernel modules, and packages installed on top of the previous firmware. The keep settings option only backs up and migrates configuration files (primarily /etc/config/). It does not preserve compiled package binaries.
It is recommended to have internet connectivity when doing upgrades.

Yeah, this is known issue when routers are actually ignoring “keep settings” and wiping everything to factory defaults… there is a serious bug in fw… had few rut241 that all settings were wiped after the update. Did it remotely and had to travel 200 Km to reconfigure the router…

@Mindaugas_mendoza if you have the Keep settings option enabled, the device configuration should not be reset after a firmware upgrade.
Could you please let me know which firmware version you upgraded from and which version you upgraded to? I would like to test this on my end.
Also, do you have anything specific configured on the devices, such as custom scripts?

I just upgraded to latest FW, used keep settings, and I can confirm that the 3 files to start our application are gone from the /etc/init.d and /etc/rc.d
Test scenario:
- verify with ls that the application script and the 95* and K10 are in the /etc folders.
- Update the router to a newer FW
- note that after the update the files are gone

If you would like to retain custom scripts or files after a firmware update, you can edit the /etc/sysupgrade.conf file via the CLI. You can log in to the CLI by following the instructions provided here: Command Line Interfaces - Teltonika Networks Wiki
Once logged in, append the absolute paths of the files/directories you want to retain to sysupgrade.conf, as shown in the image below:
Please note that the sysupgrade.conf file is only taken into account when the firmware is upgraded with the Keep settings option enabled.
