Difference between RUT906 and RUT956

Using the comparison tool the only difference is the 3GPP version and even that seems to have disappeared with latest version bothe having version 11.

Also RUT901 vs RUT951.

Is it a CPU difference?

The main difference between the RUT906 and RUT956 lies in the internal mobile modem embedded in each device:

  • RUT956 (depending on order code) is equipped with either a Quectel EC25 or Meiglink SLM750 LTE modem.
  • RUT906 uses a Meiglink SLM770A LTE modem.

The choice of modem defines:

  • Regional availability and supported frequency bands
  • Device certifications and compliance for specific countries

Apart from the LTE modem, both devices share identical hardware and software platforms: they are built on the same MediaTek MIPS SoC architecture with the same memory and storage configurations.

according to a quick google search the 770 is an upgrade?
