I set sim data limits on RUTX50’s when configured, and i have noticed the Data usage shown on the local router doesn’t match up with RMS data usage value. you can see in the second image when sim 2 started using data this month. We need a better understanding of which data is correct and why they different values
Apologies for the delay. I assume that the data limit on SIM 2 was configured after the actual data usage had already started being recorded on RMS, meaning that approximately 9 GB of usage wasn’t captured locally on the router’s counter. In this case, the value displayed on the RMS page would be the correct one, as it has been tracking data usage continuously from the start.
When the data limit resets (or if it already has), the local router and RMS data usage values should gradually align again.
Could you please confirm whether this discrepancy is still present on your end, or if the values have started to match up since your last check?
I just wanted to check in and ask if the initial issue with the data monitoring alignment has been resolved on your end. If not, could you please confirm which firmware version you were using during these observations?
It’s important to mention that there was a known critical issue affecting data limit and traffic monitoring functionalities in firmware versions 7.14–7.14.1. If your device was running on either of these, this could explain the discrepancies you’ve encountered.
To ensure proper operation, please make sure your device is running on either an earlier stable version or the latest 7.15 release. If feasible, update to 7.15 without selecting the Keep Settings option; that will reset the device to default settings after installation.
Additionally, there’s a known issue with data limit resetting, which is expected to be fixed with RutOS 7.17 release in the future.
