I am trying to use a DAP140 as a transparent wireless bridge with the wifi being a wifi client.
Greetings,

I replied to your email and have not heard back so I’ll try to post it here:
I reset the DAP140 and realized the access points we are using do not have WDS. Is there something that could change in the DAP firmware to allow the wireless to be in client mode be on the lan network without WDS enabled. This seems like it should be a simple thing to do. Is there a real limitation that the wireless cannot be in client mode and on the lan network without WDS? Or is the firmware just not allowing that combination? Is that something you can ask the developers? What about WDS allows this to happen, but it cannot happen without it?
I can add to this now with my other testing and setting up with the RUTOS relay / Wi-Fi extender / repeater / bridge configuration page.
When I have it setup like this if I ping a device from RUT1 site to a device on RUT2 side through the wireless bridge all pings complete successfully when I ping continuously.
When I ping from RUT2 to RUT1 side there are 8 pings that are successful and 5 Request timed out when I do a continuous ping.
I do have the troubleshooting logs created from the DAP140 if that helps. I can email it to you.
Do you have any suggestions? This device is not working as a wifi client transparent bridge that I was hoping for. I may have to return them, letting DigiKey know they do not work as expected.
Greetings,
I have sent you an email, please have a look at it when you are available.
Best Regards,
Justinas
