CTRL-EVENT-SCAN-FAILED Spamming when Fast Roaming is enabled

Hi,

I am using RUTX11 with Wifi in Client mode for 2 networks (5GHz and 2.4GHz) and 1 wifi in AP mode on 5GHz. When I enable Fast Roaming for 2 networks on Client Mode, System log starts spamming CTRL-EVENT-SCAN-FAILED. If I disable the Fast Roaming feature it stops spamming. Is there any way to stop the spam while enabling Fast Roaming?

Hello,

Firstly, could you confirm whether the AP (5 GHz) and both STA networks (5 GHz & 2.4 GHz) are not using the same channels on the 5 GHz band?

Also, which firmware version are you using on your RUTX11? If it’s an older one, update to 7.14.2.

Secondly, you might try decreasing the fast roaming signal threshold to, e.g., -80 dBm to see whether this gives an improvement. Another option would be to increase the scan interval periods to limit how often roaming scans are performed.

Let me know how it goes.

Best regards,
