Connecting two same subnet office networks using OpenVPN bridge (TAP)

Hello,

I need your guidance to configure the following scenario.

What I’m trying to do is similar to what is described in this blog entry, except that the OpenVPN server is not a router acting as a server, but an external OpenVPN server.

I have 2 RUTM08 routers (A and B). I have configured both of them as OpenVPN clients, to connect to the same OpenVPN server (TAP/Bridged)

The LAN IP of the routers are A: 192.168.2.1 , B: 192.168.2.2

I have a PC (PC1) connected to router A, with IP 192.168.2.3, and another PC (PC2) connected to router B, with IP 192.168.2.4

I can reach router A VPN address (10.16.211.2) from PC2, and router B VPN address (10.16.211.3) from PC1.

I can’t reach the routers LAN address from the PC connected to the other router.

I can’t reach PC2 from PC1 (and viceversa)

Am I missing something?

Thanks!

Greetings,

In OpenVPN TAP mode, there are no virtual endpoint IPs. The configuration guide you referenced is quite outdated. Please check the following TAP mode configuration instructions provided here:
