Check the status of device that connect with RUT200

Now I have use my Teltonika RUT200 router with SIM card activated and then i have bought the Teltonika RMS credit so that i can access to the RUT200. The question is now I have a device that connect to my RUT200 which I known their IP address which is 192.168.1.231:1880 now this device can sometime be off and on so i want to create an alert on RMS when my device is off and on like checking whether the IP 192.168.1.231:1880 is reachable or not, is there anyways to do this

Hello,

You have an option to set this up, a very easy one would be utilizing the Ping/Wget Configuration functionality within our devices: RUT200 Auto Reboot - Teltonika Networks Wiki

This can be set up to ping an x IP address every x minutes/hours, and if no response is received, it can:

  1. Reboot your RUT200
  2. Send an SMS
  3. Restart the mobile connection
  4. Reboot the modem
  5. (Re)Register with the mobile operator

As per the Wiki link provided above, you can set this up under WebUI → System → Maintenance → Auto-reboot → Ping/Wget reboot. Your setup would look something like this (of course, you can change it to your liking!):

i have set up like this but it doesn’t work, do i need another additional setting, and I doesn’t see the “Action condition”

Hi there,

What firmware version are you running? If not the latest, kindly update to the latest and look for the option again.

Additionally, how are you testing whether this works or not? Are you simply disconnecting the end-device from the RUT200?

thank you so much, the problem is that my sim in the router doesn’t have sufficient money so they can’t send the SMS. However is there any additional ways of alert rather than SMS for example email notification or alert in RMS.

Hi there,

Unfortunately, RMS doesn’t have this functionality currently and I can’t seem to find any ETA provided by the R&D either.

If the device ‘sometimes goes off’, I’d assume that the LAN port would also change its status to “off”. If that’s the case, I’d suggest trying Events Reporting: RUT200 Events Reporting - Teltonika Networks Wiki

I have “Send SMS” chosen, but you can set up “Send e-mail” instead.

M.

thank you so much and really appreciated for your help
