On old router RUT955 Ihave firmware 6.09.5
Router model: RUT955T03020
Serial: 110xxxxxx (I can’t read, surface is scratched).
No nwe firmware available from server.
I manually download firmeare files for RUT955:
e.g. RUT9_R_00.07.00_WEBUI.bin (is this right file?)
So I select “update from file”, then I select downloaded file above (is it the wrong file?)
Keep settings = OFF
Firmware checksum is ok.
Flashing firmware starts.
Firmware updated: 192.168.1.1 webpage, I login with default user/pwd admin/admin01
“You need to change the password”
I change password.
Next login I enter new password.
Blank scteen.
Used reset button as told on wiki, nothing.
Blank screen and mobile signal led always blinking together.
Restored old firmware usong reset button pressed at power on.
Which file should I download to correctly upgrade firmware?
This is the latest firmware I can correctly login into RUT955.
I try to upload this firmware, webpage says “100% done”
Result: lost connection (RUT955 ethernet port les is off) and signal led blinking green/led.
Lost access to RUT955.
Power off and power on with no effect.
Could it be all RUT9_R_00.07.xxx firmwares not compatible with my RUT955?
RUT955 devices with MeigLink SLM750 module are only supported on firmware version RUT9XX_R_00.06.08.5 and up. You can find the module present on your device in Device (legacy WebUI) WebUI page.
Sorry, I don’t understand, maybe my english is not good enough but also translated page doesn’t help…
Here I only read user manual pages are for old WebUI style, up to RUT9XX_R_00.06.09.5.
Nothing about modem and/or chipsets.
From here I only understand newer firmwares will show different web UI.
On Status → Device → Modem: EC25
So for others RUT955 I have (showing SLM750 modem) I can use firmware RUT9XX_R_00.06.08.5 or newer.
Summing up my EC25 is too old for firmwares newer than 6.09.5, is thi right?
If correct:
I can’t see this written anywhere
if so, why can I upload a not supported firmware version?
Are you able to receive device details such as serial number, device name, WiFI password, etc, or does it simply look similar to something like this, without any relevant information:
Could you please confirm if the issue has been resolved?
If not, I kindly ask you to execute the command provided by Sigismundus and check the output. If you see the following result: 00000000 ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff ff |................|, this may indicate that the device manufacturing parameters have been lost, and a remote session will be needed to restore them.
