Bought a RUT260 to use in our cabin to replace a Huawei B535 that broke because of too high voltage… At work I use a lot of different Advantech gear, but was really intrigued by the price of Teltonika, and the features looks to be on par with Advantech. Received it two days ago, just in time for bringing it to the cabin during Easter holidays.
But I’m unable to get it to work… Have tried with three different sim-cards (not that I really thought it would matter) - all of the unfortunately the same carrier (Telenor).
Since RSSI has no value, it seems that even the antennas do not have a signal. Maybe check first the SMA antennas, especially their small pin in the middle if it’s not broken
Hi! Sorry for the late reply - Easter took all my time
It’s not the antenna connector(s), I’m also using an external antenna when at the cabin. But I have also (of course) tried with the antennas that come with the router. And while the reception at the cabin is not great, I have also tried it at home where reception is great.
I have tried to use empty APN as well. Here is system log when trying:

When I google the “GSM error” log message, I get some hits from Teltonika forum with a few users with similar problems, but not a solution anywhere…
If these don’t work, could you test the SIM card in your mobile phone to make sure it’s activated and working? Since in your provided screenshot the router isn’t even registered to an operator, it could be that the operator denies the router from joining.
If the suggested APN was tested, we may need some additional information. Let me know if that’s needed and I will send you a form to fill out to get in contact with us privately.
Even if no SIM is inserted, you should see the operators when you perform a scan. Could you make sure you have the correct antennas screwed into the MOBILE SMA ports? It’s possible to screw WiFi antennas into LTE ports.
If that’s not the case, does the area that you are in have a good coverage? Would it be possible to test the device in a different location?
I just get “Failed to get scan results” when performing a manual “scan for operators”…
I’m 110% sure I did not mix the antennas. I have also tried with external antenna with SMA connectors (not RP-SMA).
The area where I tested it first have quite bad reception (but not none at all, we have connection on phones, just not great), that is where I had the external antenna. But I first tested with the antennas that came with the router. I have later tested the router in two other areas with very good reception. The result is always the same.
If you haven’t returned the device, could you try performing an operator scan without a SIM card inserted?
If that gives the same result, then it’s likely that RMA will be needed for this device.
