Hi!
I recently bought a Teltonika RUT260 and I’m trying to configure vlan:s, I did the following:
Connected to the RUT260 with a laptop and an ethernet cable to 192.168.1.1(default IP). I upgraded to the latest version and then I did this:
Network - VLAN - Interface Based
Created a vlan named vlan5 with a tag 5, type 802.1Q(Which my managed switch uses), interface eth0.1(This is the lan parent interface)
Then I did this:
Network - LAN - LAN interfaces
Created vlan5, Enable, Static, typed in IPv4 address 192.168.5.1 and netmask 255.255.255.0
Under More - Physical Settings - Interface vlan5
Under More - Firewall Settings - vlan5 is added to the lan firewall zone.
I will of course later create a separate zone for each vlan and separate then from each other and look at a lot of other settings.
Then I removed the ethernet cable coming from my laptop from the LAN port on RUT260 and connected the ethernet cable coming from my managed switch(802.1Q) to the LAN port on the RUT260 device.
Then I can’t access the WebUI from a PC on vlan5. I can’t even ping the device from a PC that is on vlan5. What am I missing here? I have used vlan:s on different types of routers before and the procedure has then been to create a vlan with a tag, select type - 802.1Q for example and select parent interface. Then create an interface for that vlan, set correct firewall rules to separate vlan:s, allow them to connect to the device and to the internet and so on. Then connect the managed switch to the LAN port on the router.
What settings am I missing here, RUT260 has a WAN and a LAN port and I would like to use the LAN port for connecting to my managed switch as I did before on a different type of router. On the other router the current 802.1Q settings on the managed switch worked with all the different vlan:s and I could separate them from each other and all the vlan:s could connect to that router and to the internet. Therefore I think that it’s nothing wrong with the settings on my managed switch(802.1Q) since I have used those settings for years. It must be some setting(s) in the RUT260 WebUI that I’m missing.
Right now I can only ping the RUT260 device and connect through 192.168.1.1 from the laptop.
I would like to ping from other vlan:s for example 192.168.5.x and connect through 192.168.5.1 to the WebUI and to the internet, from a PC connected to my managed switch to that vlan as I did with my previous router. Mostly I just figure these things out for myself or with the help of some Google search, but this time I got stuck for some reason. Would be grateful if someone could point me in the right direction here, I’m a bit new to the WebUI and all the settings on this device.
Best Regards
