Cannot connect with RUTOS app

Hello,

I received my RUTX50 a few days ago and I’m encountering two problems.
1 - When I want to use the RUTOS app, it can only be connect to The RUTX50 via WiFi 2.4 Ghz and not via 5 Ghz .I’m on the correct network with smartphone
2 - When using the RUTOS app and I do a wireless scan for My home Wifi I get the following message after entering the password.

“Failed
We failed to configure your device based on previous steps. Check your device connection and try again.”

I have tried this on different WiFi networks but with the same error message after entering the password. The WiFi routers have different IP addresses.
Firmaware:RUTX_R_00.07.06.5 - Modem Model RG501Q-EU, firmware:RG501QEUAAR12A08M4G_04.200.04.200

I’m a bit of a test pilot because some of my camper friends are waiting for my info to buy one too. The condition is to connect easely to the camping WiFi and this is precisely my problem.

Can anyone advise me what can bet he problem and what the solution would be?
Thanks in advance fort he help.

Kind regards,

James

Hello,

To use the RUTOS App and access your router, make sure you’re connected to the Wi-Fi network produced by your router. If your router hasn’t assigned different LANs to each Wi-Fi band, you should be able to reach the same network. Keep in mind that the RUTOS App is primarily for monitoring and has limited functionality at this time.

If your goal is to connect to the camping Wi-Fi easily:

  1. Start by connecting to your router’s WebUI. Open your browser and enter 192.168.1.1. You’ll be prompted to the router’s login page. Login using the provided router information.

  2. Once successfully logged in, navigate to Network → Wireless → SSIDs, and click the small QR code icon.

  3. In the pop-up window, you can generate a QR code for quick access to the Wi-Fi network as you desire.

If I misunderstood, and you want to connect your router to the campground’s Wi-Fi, you can do it in the same location (Network → Wireless → SSIDs) by scanning the 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks and connecting to the desired Wi-Fi network.

If you have any further questions, feel free to reach out.

Kind regards,

Marijus

Hello Marijus,

Thank you for your quick respons but, I think there was some misunderstanding, what I meant was, when I’m on the Rut 2.4 Ghz Wifi I can connect to the Rutos android app, when I choose the 5 Ghz wifi and then try to connect to the Rutos android app that doesn’t work. I can only connect to the app on the 2.4 Ghz wifi channel.

My question concerning connecting to the campgrounds wifi, when using the WebUi, that works fine for me.
But when I’m in the Rutos android app and connected I can do a scan for the networks available, I then joins the wifi network and after entering the password i get the failed answer.

“Failed
We failed to configure your device based on previous steps. Check your device connection and try again.”

If it is possible to connect this way via the android app to the campgrounds wifi, this would be fantastic for my fellow camperfriends who are not so IT minded.

Kind regards,
James

Hi @JamesC,

The issues should be fixed, and adding another access point should work as intended. If you’re still encountering any problems with the RUTOS app or any other Teltonika Networks product, feel free to reach out again.

Best regards,
