Cannot Accept CLI certificate

RUTX_R_00.07.08

In System / Maintenance / CLI
I received message:
Firefox detected a potential security threat…
with two options:
“Go Back” “Advanced”

I click advanced, then I get the message:
The certificate is not trusted because it is self-signed

and now there should be TWO (2) options:
“Go Back (Recommended)” “Accept the Risk and Continue”

but only the “Go Back (Recommended)” option appears.

At first I thought maybe the
“Accept the Risk…” option
is cut-off on the right hand side
and there is no way to scroll to the right to see this option.

But in that case I should be able to Tab to it to make it appear
but there is a problem with rendering fo the page so it cant be tabbed to either.

So how do I accept the certificate?

thanks

You should never add certificate exceptions, this is not secure. You should generate your own certificates (either trough Certificate Manager or yourself), upload them by using HTTP and add the CA certificate to your browser/system trusted certificate store. This way you will never see a warning and it will also be secure. Or just generate a Lets Encrypt certificate by using DDNS if you have a public IP and use it without any changes to end devices.

Thanks for the input, though in this case I am not sure I agree.

It is not an exception to checking a certificate,
it is accepting a device-generated “device certificate”.
Accepting a device certificate does not seem problematic,
unles the device was tampered with prior to reaching me.
But even then, the ability of someone to mtm between me and my own devices is v limited.
